About Me
Family is very important to me, probably because I grew up as an only child. The love of my life was (and is) Karon. She and I married on St. Patrick's Day, 1980, after a two year long courtship. Karon suffered from juvenile diabetes and was able to stay healthy until the last five or so years of her life. However, she developed heart problems and, even after a quadruple bypass surgery, she passed away on February 11, 2014. She was a very kind and loving person and the greatest Christian I have ever known. She also was a very active volunteer.
Karon and I have two sons. Christopher, our oldest, was born in 1988 and Jeremy was born in 1990. Both boys are grown up. Christopher is a pastor and is married to Jessica. Jeremy is a biomedical engineer. He is married to Camille.
Robert Grady is my first grandchild, born to Christopher and Jessica on September 11, 2018. The photo at the right shows Robert sitting in a chair that my father made for me when I was his age. The chair is made out of scrap metal welded together with a seat from a child's tractor. It is one of my prized possessions.
My second grandchild was born on May 26,2023, to Jeremy and Camille. Samantha "Sammie" was named after her dad's original name, when we thought he was going to be a girl. We got a real surprise and had to change names and plans very quickly. For her part, Sammie is a real sweetheart and her biggest fan (outside of Grandpa) is Robert.
