Religion

My Life and History
My religious beliefs are evangelical and conservative. I am currently serving as minister for the First Christian Church in Crowell, Texas. I have been serving the Lord in this way since 1999. The church is actually my home church, as I was baptized there in August, 1963.

I have been involved in a number of other churches, including Calvary Baptist Church in Vernon, Texas (former Sunday School teacher and Chairman of Deacons), as well as performing tasks and assisting in the ministries of First United Methodist Church, Vernon, Holy Family Catholic Church, Vernon, First Baptist Church, Crowell and First Assembly of God, Vernon.

I believe something my mother used to say: "There's good in all churches." I affiliate with the Southern Baptist Church, but preach at an Independent Christian church.

The most important belief that I hold true is that Jesus Christ is the son of the Living God and died for my sins.

He said "Go ye therefore and and make disciples of all nations." (Matthew 28:19) There's more to that and a lot of interpretation, practice and tradition involved. However, the first thing that we need to do to become disciples of His and follow His other command: "...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." (Matthew 22:37-39)  That's what I try to do.

If you are wondering how to do that, I'd be happy to speak with you. You know a little about me. I'd be happy to tell you more and learn about you, too. I am happy to speak of my conversion and explain my beliefs, and I like to talk about a lot of other stuff, too, as you can see from my family, backgound and interests.

The Roman Road is a good way to present religious beliefs. I am including it courtesy of www.teenmissions.org.

If you are not a Believer, I encourage you to look these passages up in your Bible. If you have questions, please contact me.
